Artist's Description

We drove the loop from Victoria to Lake Cowichan to Port Renfrew and back home the other day, just for some adventure. We saw some neat waterfalls, a really big sitka spruce, a fair bit of rain, but I got rather excited to see this fir tree growing on a stump in Fairy Lake. There's a number of fantastic photos of this tree online, but here is my take. The water levels are very high right now, so I liked the fact that you don't see much of the stump at this point. It really is fantastic how a tree can
grow like this.
